Daily Hope and Inspiration from Pastor Mark

One of the best ways to move forward is to understand our past.

Experience has taught me and those I trust and learn from that while we can learn from our past and benefit from these life lessons, it’s neither healthy, nor beneficial to allow the unprocessed pain and hurt from the past to control our thoughts, actions, and motives.

It’s great to learn from both mistakes and successes, but when fear, anger, and even pride fuel the way we look at our past, it freezes our hearts and influences our minds negatively from the benefit of the life lesson.

The free Spiritual Tools offered in the 12 Steps helps us to look at our past objectively. When we become willing to uncover the pains, shames, and hurts from our past we can discover how it still has a negative hold on us. This part of the 12 Step process allows us to then look at the event or experience and discard it from our heart.

When we can Uncover, Discover, and Discard we are set free and can move forward.

“We have been trying to get a new attitude, a new relationship with our Creator, and to discover the obstacles in our path.” Big Book pg 72

Lord, we ask Your guidance as we look to grow from our past and no longer be a prisoner of it, AMEN.

“And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19

 Have a blessed day y’all!
