Corrupt data… Have you ever heard of this term? Corrupt data comes from errors in reading, writing, transmitting, and processing data. These days, we can have computer trouble, TV trouble, and even car trouble when data is corrupted. It can be fixed by finding and fixing the error. We can also have corrupt data in our lives. The thoughts that we allow to drive our behaviors and influence our actions can be corrupted from misunderstandings, bad examples, and self-will unchecked. This leads to hardened hearts and misery for all. God can fix the errors that corrupt our spiritual data. We just have to become willing and let Him. How is the data transmission from your head to your heart?.. Check your experience… “Nevertheless, we find that our thinking will, as time passes, be more and more on the plane of inspiration. We come to rely upon it.” Big Book pg 87 Lord, let us open our heats to allow Your Spirit to guide our thoughts, actions, words, and will, AMEN. “Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.” Titus 1:15 Have a blessed day y’all! Picking our battles… Perhaps it’s different for you but every now and then when I am alone with my thoughts, the quiet thought that has been with me for most of my life tries to remind me that not only am I a loser but also I am not worthy of others. Now thankfully I have enough Jesus in my heart and step work from almost 27 years of sobriety to remind me quickly that this thought is not mine, it is from my disease; get it? DIS-EASE… The disease of addiction capitalizes on this for those times when we struggle with self-doubt and or fear. I am thankful for my picket fence of friends in sobriety and my brothers and sisters in ministry who constantly remind me that God is using me for His will and I need continue with my passion for helping others. How are you handling your thoughts of DIS-EASE?.. Check your experience… “Our thought-life will be placed on a much higher plane when our thinking is cleared of wrong motives.” Big Book pg 86 Lord, let us go to war on our thoughts and not let thoughts of doubt and fear control our minds, efforts, and actions, AMEN. "We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God that can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments 5 and every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ." 2 Corinthians 10: 4-5 Have a blessed day y’all! Grab a daily shot of positive and inspiration! If you can't see it, then BE it!.. Here is a suggestion. Think about this and try it today and this week! While going about your normal day and doing your same routines, look around today using the eyes of your heart. Find someone doing some good and go out of your way to thank them. Do something good unexpectedly for another today. You will make their day and your heart will thank you!.... Check your experience… "Helping others is the foundation stone" Big Book pg 98 Lord open the eyes of our hearts today so that we can see and do good for others, AMEN. “Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone-especially to those in the family of faith.” Galatians 6:10 Have a blessed day y’all! What’s the real price?.. Perseverance and dedication are admirable traits and are certainly needed in order to be successful but at what cost? It’s wise to learn, practice, and train in order to become good at what we do and gain valuable experience in order to be successful. But what about the other parts of our lives? Think about it. How beneficial is it to neglect our family and friends and ignore our Spiritual needs while we pursue a personal or professional goal?.. Check your experience… “The central fact of our lives today is the absolute certainty that our Creator has entered into our hearts and lives in a way which is indeed miraculous. He has commenced to accomplish those things for us which we could never do by ourselves.” Big Book pg 25 Lord, let us set aside our earthly wants and seek Your will for our lives, AMEN. “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?” Matthew 16:26 Have a blessed day y’all! Have a blessed day y’all! Help Homeless Families, Veterans, elderly, and those in need! What are you wearing?.. We have gear for all types of weather, events, sports, hobbies, and seasons. I just learned, and pardon my fashion backwardness, that there are even special shoes just for driving your car! While it’s nice to have all of these choices to clothe ourselves properly according to weather, activity, and such….how are we covering, preparing, and protecting our Spirit for all situations we encounter? Our Bible teaches us to clothe ourselves in love which covers all things. While I’ll admit that sometimes that this is really hard to put on for certain situations, it generally goes much better when I do. …Check your experience… “…asking each morning in meditation that our Creator show us the way of patience, tolerance, kindliness and love.” Big Book pg 83 Lord. Let us clothe ourselves in love to handle all people, places, and things that we encounter, AMEN. “Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” Colossians 3:14 Have a blessed day y’all! Embracing a challenge…. When it’s all said and done, we basically have 2 choices with respect to challenges. We can either let fear win and stop us from moving through it, or we can park our fears and walk straight into the challenge with faith, hope, and perseverance. Think about it. It is our own mind that usually stops us from embracing change. We tell ourselves through negative self-talk that we can’t. Heck we even try to rally others around us to reinforce this thought and gain their agreement that we can’t. This makes it easier not to even try. How about looking in your heart? That is where the Holy Spirit lives and usually if you listen to your heart, your head quiets down with the negativity… Check your experience… “For if (we) failed to perfect and enlarge (our) spiritual life through work and self-sacrifice for others, we could not survive the certain trials and low spots ahead” Big Book pgs. 14-15 Lord, let us embrace a challenge knowing we can learn and grow from it, AMEN. “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.” Romans 5:3 Have a blessed day y’all! He sees everything… I love watching people. I learn so much from others. It’s interesting to me to watch folks as they interact with others. My experience has been that different situations bring different actions and behaviors. For instance at the fast food drive through the focus is on the order, as both the attendant and the customer are centered on the purchase of a pre-established menu item, pretty much a no brainer. Then there is the grocery store and the need to be in the shortest line. The type A personality verses the passive is fun to watch. The Type A will go all out directly to the short line and heck with whomever has the misfortune of being in their way, while the passive personality will be aware of others and see the type A and clear out of the way letting them go first. My favorite is the unexpected assist. One night a while back, I observed a mom with a toddler attempting to fit all of her bagged purchases into one hand while deftly grabbing car keys and freeing the other arm to hold the baby because the cart would not go outside of the store, while shoppers ignored her and moved around her as they exited the store. She almost went into shock when I asked her if I could help. After the shock wore off, she saw my smiling wife and figured out quickly I was not a psycho stalker, but she politely refused and gave us a heartfelt thank you for caring enough to ask. Remember folks, keep the eyes of your hearts open to see who the Lord puts in your path. It’s always good to offer assistance for the right reasons… Check your experience… “It depends on us and on our motives.” Big Book pg 70 Lord, let us perform good deeds with the only motive of being of service to others and not for personal gain, AMEN. “In the same way, the good deeds of some people are obvious. And the good deeds done in secret will someday come to light.” 1 Timothy 5: 24-25 Have a blessed day y’all! Change has to come from within… It’s such a blessing to be around folks who are sharing the changes they are making in themselves! Their positive motivation and encouragement inspire me to continue to work on myself. The key word here for me is WORK. Maybe your results have been different, but I have not been able to just think my way to positive change within me and my life. I have had to provide the needed actions to change my attitudes, beliefs, habits, and behaviors too. The blessings for me in all of this activity is that not only do I begin to become the person God intended me to be, but also I am building new friendships and relationships as I grow. How are you bringing change to yourself?.. Check your experience… “Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change.” Big Book pg 84 Lord, let us provide the action and willingness to bring about the needed changes in our lives, AMEN. “Get rid of all the sins you have done and get for yourselves a new heart and a new way of thinking.” Ezekiel 18:31 Have a blessed day y’all! When the going gets tough. ... There are times when we are faced with a difficult decision or situation, it seems to be a part of being human. Perhaps you are healthier mentally and spiritually than me, but my initial gut reaction is to feel alone, isolate, and let my self-generated fears magnify the difficult moment in an effort to lead me into making a bad choice with my actions or behaviors. Over the years I have learned to expect this reaction in me and to not act on it. I turn to prayer and invite the Holy Spirit to guide my words, actions, and choices. When I do, I no longer feel alone, defeated, or fearful. Sure I still have to walk through the situation but I no longer let it control me and my attitudes. I remind myself that God has me covered with His Spiritual Armor and I walk through it. Is God helping you through those rough patches? ... Check your experience… "God either is or He isn't. What was our choice to be?" Big Book pg 53. Lord remind our hearts and quiet our minds in times of difficulty that You are with us no matter what, AMEN. "When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown!” Isaiah 43:2 Have a blessed day y’all! Pull the weeds trying to grow near your heart. ... Static noise and visual distractions are everywhere these days. Our tablets and electronic devices are bombarded with visual ads trying to distract us. I just learned that highway billboard are now electronic and change ads in front of our eyes as we drive! The ads on "free versions" of Internet radio interrupt our music filling our heads with "offers and specials" Peyton Manning humming the Nationwide jingle is still stick in my head! We experience the same type of distractions with our Spiritual walk with Jesus. Worldly clamors distract us trying to allow fear, worry, and pride to fuel our self-centered minds away from seeking and doing God's will. How many times daily are your good thoughts challenged with earthly interruptions? Check your experience. ... “His presence had been blotted out by worldly clamors, mostly those within myself." Big Book pg 12-13 Lord please let us focus on your love and will for us despite all of the earthly distractions around us, AMEN. "The seed that fell among the thorny weeds is like those who hear God’s teaching, but they let the worries, riches, and pleasures of this life keep them from growing and producing good fruit.” Luke 8:14 Have a blessed day y’all! Keeping our eyes on our own paper…. Remember hearing that when we were in grade school? The temptation to look at our neighbors work is based on the fear of doing something new and is a basic part of growing we all go through. This temptation takes a twist as we become adults. Instead of looking at our neighbor’s work to get the answer, we want to look to compare. It’s now a pride issue and not a fear issue. We want to either catch them doing it wrong or pat ourselves on the back for being better than them. Either way, we are stuck in a self-centered motive fueled by pride and the outcome is never healthy. Think about it, our best learning comes from working with others and not against them. When we focus on doing our best and not on the other person’s work, we are fulfilling a spiritual principle… Check your experience… “What seemed at first a flimsy reed, has proved to be the loving and powerful hand of God. A new life has been given us or, if you prefer, "a design for living" that really works.” Big Book pg 28 Lord, let us look at our motives and efforts to see that we are doing the best work that we can, AMEN. “Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.” Galatians 6:4 Have a blessed day y’all! Get a grip… There is a big difference between being in the grip and in getting a grip. When something has a grip on us, like an illness, we are almost powerless over it until it releases us. However, when we get a grip on something, like our Spiritual life, we control the effect it has on us through our motives and efforts. Experience along with good counsel from many wiser than me has taught me to get a grip on my Spiritual life instead of remaining in the grip of the worldly clamors of pride, anger, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, and sloth. (PAGLEGS) How’s this working out for you? As always, please ….check your experience… “It is easy to let up on the spiritual program of action and rest on our laurels. We are headed for trouble if we do.” Big Book pg 85 Lord, let us get a grip on our relationship with You through time in Your Word and prayer, AMEN. “With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.” 2Thessalonians 2:15 Have a blessed day y’all! Trying to fill that hole in our heart… Have you ever noticed that in certain times of trial or stress, no matter how much thought, effort, and will you give it, it just doesn’t seem enough? Or perhaps you are struggling with that empty feeling and no matter what you attempt to do or use to overcome it, the hole remains. That hole is in our hearts and no amount of food, relationships, material things, booze, drugs, or any other man made solution will fill it. That is Christ knocking on the doors of your heart asking to come in. Perhaps you invited Him in long ago but, like the well-worn pair of shoes in the back part of the closet, you leave them there but no longer use them. When we have a daily relationship with Christ, much like our daily relationships with our loved ones, the hole in our heart gets filled and we become complete... Check your experience… “There had been a humble willingness to have Him with me -- and He came.” Big Book pg 12 Lord, let us look to You to fill the hole in our heart, AMEN. “You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink but are still thirsty. You put on clothes but cannot keep warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes!” Haggai 1: 4-6 Have a blessed day y’all! Clear headed… Most of us are busy these days trying to live life on life’s terms. From the jobs we have that provide the income that helps us to have homes to live in, food to eat, and things our families need, to the demands on our time to be available for our spouses, children, parents, friends, and family members; we are constantly busy. It’s probably different for you, but one thing I have to constantly watch myself on is to stay engaged and not be “asleep at the wheel”, you know just going through the motions without mentally being present. I have learned the hard way that when I fall into this trap, not only do I miss out on what is happening, but also the activity in my head fails to match up with the present. I have learned to stay clear headed by focusing on the here and now and being present. This keeps my thoughts on what I am currently doing and my head clear of all the other things it wants me to think about instead. How’s this working out for you?.. Check your experience… “Our thought-life will be placed on a much higher plane when our thinking is cleared of wrong motives.” Big Book pg 86 Lord, let us keep our minds and hearts clears so we can be present in the moment, AMEN. “So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.” 1 Thessalonians 5:6 Have a blessed day y’all! Help Homeless Families, Veterans, elderly, and those in need! Getting what we give….. Most of us do a pretty good job of surrounding ourselves with people who we can get along with pretty well. However, every now and then we are put into a situation with strangers who make us uncomfortable with their actions or we have an encounter with others whose behaviors may not match up with what we consider acceptable or normal. Now perhaps its different for you, but it’s in these times that my self-centered head likes to hold court and begin judging and condemning others because they are not doing or behaving the way I consider acceptable. You know what I mean. Like the guy who forgot to brush his teeth and you are trapped listening to him go on and on about something you could care less about while your mind tries to determine from his breath what his last meal was. Or the person who is making a mountain out of a mole hill over something that is obviously important to them, yet insignificant in your life. Judging others is never good because it warps our opinions and does not give our heart a chance to see why the Lord has put this person in our path. We don’t have to agree with everyone we encounter, but we do need to treat them like we want to be treated… Check your experience… “but we let God be the final judge.” Big Book pg 70 Lord, open the eyes of my heart and let me seek to understand instead of looking to be understood, AMEN. “Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things? Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you?” Romans 2: 3-4 Have a blessed day y’all! Grab a daily shot of positive and inspiration! Drop the rocks. ... Did you ever notice that in times of stress, fear, or extended worry your back usually aches and your shoulders and neck are stiff and tight? Sheesh! What's up with that? You are probably familiar with the term 'carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders'; and that is exactly what we are trying to do during these painful times! We can't change people, places, things, or situations. So why do we load our hearts and minds with the weight of things, we cannot change? When we block our hearts off from the Holy Spirit, our minds become prisoners of our self-induced thoughts our body takes on the weight of this unnatural stress causing pain in our back, shoulders, and neck. ... Drop those rocks! Give the weight of the world to God and watch your pains go away! ... As always..... Check your experience… "But soon the sense of His presence had been blotted out by worldly clamors, mostly those within myself." Big Book pg 12-13 Lord let us give the weight of the world to you freeing us to focus on Your will for us and enjoy Your grace and peace, AMEN. “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11: 29-30 Have a blessed day y’all! Are we being smart or wise?... While these 2 words generally mean the same thing, there is a big difference. Being smart comes from relying on our own self driven actions, skills, knowledge, and work. Wisdom comes from knowing our limitations, learning from experience, and relying on something or someone outside of ourselves. Humility and discernment lead us to wisdom. So think on this today. We need both in our lives depending on the situation is when we must make the choice. Are you being smart or wise?... Check your experience … “if it is wisely handled -- and it seems to be in wise and prudent hands -- there are doors of opportunity ahead of this project that may surpass our capacities to imagine." Big Book pg 572 Lord, let us lean toward wisdom when it comes to maters of the heart and will, AMEN. “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17 Have a blessed day y’all! Faith is not believing that God can; it is in knowing God will... Have you ever considered that the things we rely on most we don’t actually see or understand how they exactly work? We can’t see the air we breathe. Except for a few friends who are engineers, we can’t truly explain all that is involved when we turn on a light. We put the key in the ignition and the car starts right up. These things require something on our part that we don’t normally think about. We have faith that they will work. This faith comes from the experience we have built up from doing these things over and over again for a long time. We trust that they will work and don’t really give it much thought. That is how our faith works in the other areas of our lives. When we trust God with all of our heart, faith can carry us through many situations and seasons that are either uncomfortable or unfamiliar to us… Check your experience… “To be vital, faith must be accompanied by self-sacrifice and unselfish, constructive action.” Big Book pg 93 Lord let us grow our faith through daily practice in trusting and relying on You, AMEN. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 Have a blessed day y’all! Are you still in prison?...“As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn't leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I'd still be in prison.”- Nelson Mandela - This thought can give us insight to what our fears, resentments, and anger is based on. Are we still a prisoner of our own bitterness and hatred because we REFUSE to embrace our freedom and move on from the past?... Check your experience… “If we were to live, we had to be free of anger.” Big Book pg 66 Lord let us walk in freedom letting go of the bondage of anger over the past, AMEN. “Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Resources for fact checking… When I was working on my MBA we were required to use verified and proven sources as we did our assignments and presented information in class. What was comforting to me about this was that not only did I have to make sure that what I was sharing with the class was verified and true, but also I was able to relax knowing that what my classmates shared was verified and true as well. In my experience this has helped to create a solid and powerful learning environment. Wouldn’t that be great of our culture and society required the same thing? Sure, on some levels we do, that is why there is the “fine print” at the bottom of most documents requiring our signatures, but what about the advertisements and wild claims that fly from folks mouths as they try to sway our opinions or move us to buy or try to evoke emotions in us? It pays to check the source of the information. Sometimes selfish motives outweigh facts and the information gets manipulated to stretch or fabricate the truth. The promises that are in the 2 most important books in my life assure me that their facts are straight and real. The Bible and the Big Book are the 2 sources I rely on daily to help me see and say the truth… How do you verify what you are seeing and hearing?.. Check your experience… “For faith in a Power greater than ourselves, and miraculous demonstrations of that power in human lives, are facts as old as man himself.” Big Book pg 55 Lord, let us look to Your Word and Your will for us when we seek to learn the truth, AMEN. “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.” Colossians 2:8 Have a blessed day y’all! Seasoned with salt – NOT Salty language! Even though words fly out of our mouths with meaning formed from our emotions and experience, they can be received and interpreted differently by the individuals receiving them. Obviously, our words have different meanings depending on what part of the country we are in. For instance, asking for a pop outside of the Southern United States will get you blank stares instead of asking for a soda or other carbonated beverage. The point I am trying to share is that our words need to be geared toward the audience we are addressing. Our dinner conversations with our 20 year old daughter revolves around more adult themed topics like finances and insurance instead of the topics we discussed with her in her younger years. Are you making sure the words you are using are being received in the right manner?.. Check your experience… “Patience, tolerance, understanding and love are the watchwords.” Big Book pg 118 Lord let our words be filled with grace and formed so that the ears of those receiving will understand, AMEN. “Live wisely among those who are not believers and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” Colossians 4: 5-6 Have a blessed day y’all! How’s your footing? … Sometimes we find ourselves on rocky, cluttered, or unstable paths as we try to walk. When we encounter these challenges we usually become a bit more wary of each step and sometimes consider changing our path. We don’t necessarily need to change the goal or the destination, but perhaps change the way we are trying to get there. We can and will encounter some unstable paths in life and along our Spiritual walk as well. It’s in those times we can look to the Holy Spirit to guide us and set us on a clear and more stable path instead of trying to seek an easier softer way on our own. How to you find firm footing spiritually? … Check your experience… “Established on such a footing we became less and less interested in ourselves, our little plans and designs.” Big Book pg 63 Lord, let us look to You to establish our footing when we find ourselves on shaky ground, AMEN. “You cleared the ground under me so my footing was firm.” 2 Samuel 22:37 Have a blessed day y’all! Two are better than one… There is a big difference between alone time and isolation. While time alone spent in prayer, meditation and communication with God is restorative and rejuvenating, isolation blocks us off from everyone and everything leaving us to become a slave to our self-centered thoughts. Thankfully I have folks in my life that know me and help me to avoid travelling down the path to isolation. I learned long ago that a good ideal only becomes great when shared with another and not left to our own thoughts. How often and how measured is your alone time?… Check your experience… “…being restored and united under one God, with hearts and minds attuned to the welfare of others,” Big Book pg 161 Lord let us lean on our brothers and sisters in Christ for both good times and challenging seasons, AMEN. "Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. Faith it until you make it… We use faith in one form or another in many situations daily. For instance, when we touch a light switch, we naturally assume without much thought that the light will come on. Oh sure, a few of us, BUT NOT ME, have engineering degrees and understand all of the mechanics and physics involved in this simple act, but for the most part, folks like me trust that the light will just turn on. It’s the same experience in my car every time I turn the key to start it or apply the brakes while driving. I have faith, based on my previous experiences, that these actions will bring the desired results. The more I experience something, the stronger my faith is. It’s the same with our spiritual life. The more we spend time in the Word and with Jesus, the stronger our faith grows. We can’t buy faith, but we can sure grow it!.. Check your experience… “In this book you read again and again that faith did for us what we could not do for ourselves.” Big Book pg 70 Lord, let us grow our faith through daily contact with You and time in Your Word, AMEN. “For we live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 Have a blessed day y’all! Ours for the asking… We have to work in some form or fashion for just about everything in life. Obviously we work to provide for our families and we work at getting things we want and like. We even work on ourselves, physically, mentally, and spiritually in order to keep healthy. One of the things that we don’t have to work for is God’s unconditional love. He chose us and it’s ours for the asking! However we must work to build relationship with Him in order to grow in Christ and know His will. How is this working out for you?.. Check your experience… “God either is or He isn't. What was our choice to be?” Big Book pg 53 Lord, thank You for choosing us and allowing us the opportunity for Your grace and everlasting life, AMEN. “You have not chosen Me, I have chosen you. I have set you apart for the work of bringing in fruit. Your fruit should last. And whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you.” John 15:16 Have a blessed day y’all! Becoming teachable. ... Remember the last time you were able to lay aside your preconceived notions, expectations, and self-made opinions in order to truly learn something new? Yeah, it's been a while for me too! Part of having free will and becoming an adult is this magic magnifying mind that we have that likes to unconsciously grow and feed from our perceptions and experiences. It tries to predict situations for us as well as attempts to harden our hearts through our own self-made assessments and judgements. Until we stop this process and set aside the ability and power it has over us, we cease to truly grow spiritually. Kids don't have this. They look to us with wide eyes and open minds thirsty to learn. It's only when we can open our minds willingly in this manner can God truly teach us and fill our hearts with Hid Spirit and wisdom. Are you still willing and able to be teachable? ...Check your experience. ... "But after a while we had to face the fact that we must find a spiritual basis of life-or else." Big Book pg 44 Lord let us set aside our own thoughts and become teachable like a child for Your Word, AMEN. "He said: I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3 Have a blessed day y’all! The human heart is at the heart of the human problem… It’s part of our nature to blame people, places, and things when it doesn’t turn out like we want. This thinking is built into our culture as well as society. Don’t trust me, just tune into any news broadcast or media report and the finger pointing and blame placing is the major part of the story. This thinking, when allowed to dominate our thoughts, covers our hearts and makes it hard for the Sunlight of the Spirit to flow through our hearts and minds. Now don’t get me wrong, bad things do happen and there can be other people, places, or things involved. That is what our justice system is for. What about the veil of negativity and closed mindedness we are left with covering our hearts and minds? I mean it’s hard to trust others, especially these days, but because it is a spiritual principal that we have to GIVE in order to GET, that we must put away our negativity and mistrust and replace it with grace and faith. If we can open our hearts to allow Jesus to fill us with His Holy Spirit and to cover and protect us with His grace, then things turn out better… Check your experience… “Here was something at work in a human heart which had done the impossible.” Big Book pg 11 Lord, let us turn our hearts and minds over to the care of Your will and grace, AMEN. "Yes, even today when they read Moses' writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand." 2 Corinthians 3:15 Have a blessed day y’all! Looking at your Caller ID… Modern technology provides us with many conveniences that make our lives easier as well as more informed. From instant information available to all on the internet to digital medical records that doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies securely share, these benefits enable us to lead easier and more productive lives. One thing I particularly enjoy is caller ID. Back in the day when the wall phone in the kitchen rang. We had to answer it no matter what and we never knew who was calling. Caller ID has simplified my life. If you are in my contact list, I know it’s you and I will answer, if you are unknown to me, then you get to speak to the voice mail I check once a week! Spiritually speaking we have the same opportunity with the calls on our hearts and souls. God uses Jesus and the Holy Spirit to call on us through our hearts to not only help us, but also show us His will for us. Because God loves us unconditionally, He give us the free will to choose to take His call or not. What is our choice to be?.. Check your experience… . “There had been a humble willingness to have Him with me -- and He came.” Big Book pg 12 Lord, let us answer Your call knowing You have the answer for us as well as the way of grace and peace, AMEN. “…lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.” Ephesians 4:1 Have a blessed day y’all! What goes around COMES around. .. Have you ever played with a bouncing ball? Did you notice that it always cones back to you with the same force you give it? Now I am not trying to teach physics, but the ball example contains today's spiritual thought. I have learned over the years that my relationships with people, places, and things have the same effect. We GET what we GIVE. It's a spiritual principle. When I treat others with grace, I get grace and when I throw out grief and negativity I get it right back. Check your experience. ... "Just to the extent that we do as we think He would have us, and humbly rely on Him, does He enable us to match calamity with serenity." Big Book pg 68. Lord, let us give others the same grace and joy that you freely give us, AMEN. "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you," Matthew 7:12 Have a blessed day y’all!
