Guard your words and walk your talk…
Perhaps it’s different for you and I hope it is, but I spent many years reacting on emotions and allowing words fueled by fear, insecurity, and pride escape from my mouth before sensibility, reason, and wisdom had a chance to respond.
My failure to control my words led to all sorts of situations where I had to amend, apologize, and suffer the consequences.
When I finally learned to respond rather than react,
I found not only less stress and chaos in my life, but also learned that this is where the Holy Spirit in us can speak into our hearts and show us not only the words we should use, but also the actions we need to back these words. Are you reacting or responding? …

“Our behavior will convince them more than our words.” Big Book pg 83
Lord, thank you for the reminder that while small, our tongue is mighty and we must watch our words, AMEN.
“Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches.” James 3: 2-5
